Pattern’s Founder & Principal recognized among Southern California’s leading commercial real estate professionals
Pattern Planning & Development Inc. is proud to announce that Founder & Principal Erik Yesayan has been named one of LA Times Studios’ 2026 Commercial Real Estate Visionaries in the Professional Services Advisors category. The annual feature recognizes senior-level executives across Southern California for their work on major projects and deals and for their leadership within their organizations and communities.
The LA Times profile highlights how Erik grew Pattern from a startup into a firm representing nationally recognized developers, architects, and brands in just three years, along with the firm’s fire recovery work across the Pacific Palisades and Altadena, including the rebuilding of Sahag Mesrop Armenian Christian School.
Today, Pattern’s work ranges from permitting for landmark LA-area properties like the Langham Huntington Hotel in Pasadena to major multifamily and subdivision projects and industrial infrastructure throughout Southern California.
The feature also points to Pattern’s work implementing SB 1123, California’s newest small-lot subdivision law. The model creates a path to attainable homeownership in neighborhoods where single-family housing has priced families out, and Pattern is among the firms putting it into practice.
Erik brings more than 15 years of experience in planning and public policy to the firm. He served as chair of the Glendale Planning Commission before founding Pattern, an experience that shapes how the firm works with cities and agencies today. Earlier in his career, he worked as a Coastal Planner handling luxury residential entitlements and Woolsey Fire rebuilds in Malibu and the Santa Monica Mountains. He is also a winner of the 2021 USC Ross Program’s Best Development Award.
